The current goal of this committee is to provide Theatre Educators with an Advocacy Toolkit that will help them to advocate locally for their own theater programs. Please visit our Toolkit, linked here, and feel free to utilize any of the resources you find there. If you have Advocacy resources to share, please send them to Chairs Michael Limone and Marshall Pokrentowski. |
Theatre Educator ResourcesTheatre transforms lives, and all children should have access to theatre education. Towards these ends and over many years, NYSTEA has succeeded in requiring Theatre Teacher Certification, helped create the certification exams, compelled the addition of performance credits for graduation, and more.
NYSTEA continues to be the primary Theatre Education advocacy organization in New York State, working in alliance with other arts organizations and helping to write the new State Education Standards for Theatre. Here are the New York State Learning Standards for Theatre. Click here for the Advocacy Toolkit. |
